I have this compressor pump that the resident experts can probably help me ID. Here's all I know so far:

Cast iron block. Cast alum head, base, sheave, and crankcase side. I'd say it has about a 2" bore. Crank bearings are all ball. Poppet type valves, with the exhaust valve under a hex head cover on top. Cylinder and cooling fins are round on the outside. The crankcase breather has a dipstick built into it. The whole thing doesn't look too old.

So, anybody know this model? Thanks.

I really would need a pic. Old Sanborn pumps sometimes had aluminum flywheels, as well as Chinook (techquip) pumps. Both had breather type dispticks and oil sight glasses in the crankcase. Alwasy make sure you get the rotation right on a pump with this type of dipstick, or you will have a real mess on your hands as the rotation of the crank splashes oil up through it. Round cooling fins suggest it might be a Champion A1 B1 or C1 pump (single cylinder). Can't remember if it had an aluminum flywheel though. They do have poppet valves and hex head covers on them though, and cast aluminum heads. A dead giveaway for a small Champion pump is s half moon foam air filter element that install directly into the top of the head with a little retainer frame.
Is it a V style pump or a vertical twin? Single cylinder?
I would need a picture to be able to tell you for sure.

Thanks. I'll try to get a photo soon. It's a small single cylinder pump--about 1' tall. No sight glasses or built in filters. Intake and exhaust are both pipe thread. FWIW, the compressor and flywheel are painted red, and the aluminum crankcase side is cirular.

Might be an old Curtis Toledo. That was the only compressor I saw that was painted red from the factory.
