Is the front of the deck bent forward, where the clevises attach? (There is some variation in mounting hardware for these decks, but I THINK if you had the wrong parts it would not attach, or be even farther off than it sounds like yours is.) Also, the deck itself is known to bend where the spindle bearings attach, especially around the middle spindle. Have you taken a good look at that? When checking out one of these decks, I take it off the tractor, and tip the deck upside down, and shim it up with warious wood blocks, and check with a small level to verify that the deck is level side-to-side, and front-to-back. Then I use a small magnetic level (or angle guage) set on the face of the blade hubs to check if the spindles are level with the deck. If one or more spindles are NOT level with the deck, remove the offending spindle, and use a hammer to straighten out the sheet metal around the spindle hole, and reassemble and again check with the level. I have on occasion had to use a flat washer as a shim, between one of the "ears" on a spindle bearing, and the deck to get the spindle "true" with the deck. Once you get the spindles all level, install the blades, and verify that the tips of the blades are level with each other, where they pass close too each other. Make sure you don't have a bent blade. When the deck is all trued up like this they really cut nice!
