Harry- The analog scope is the best way to view ignition system primary and secondary circuit electrical activity.

There is no more "coil primary", "#1 spark plug wire", and "coil secondary", to hook up to. That stuff is all in the past... If you're wanting to deal with computer operated systems, get you the service manual on that particular system. It will tell you how to get the system to give you fault codes, as blinking lites on the instrument panel, that you can follow up on as to service actions.

Keep in mind that the fault code systems give information about stuff that a scope won't show.
