Paint gun air pressure

I'm looking at some touch up guns, I have a neighbor who does a lot of spray painting he says to stay away from the high pressure guns use a HVLP gun ok I'm looking at a couple that states air pressure at 3-4 bars. what is the unite bar? how many psi does that refer to? thank for help..... ..... Jer

3 - 4 bar would be between 43 and 58 psi.

If you've got an air supply on hand you might ck out Wanger's softspray HVLP "conversion gun". It uses about 6 to 8 psi & cost around a hundred bucks. You really don't need a HVLP turbine system unless you are doing ultra high class painting.

I've got the Wagner & like it very much!

If you want to get real picky, my handy dandy unit converter on my Sony handheld, says that 1 bar = 14.5037738 psi
