Honda fuel problem

I have a 93 Honda Accord with about 120 thousand
miles on it. About a year ago it wouldnt start
so I put a new fuel filter on it and it was OK.

The other day it did it again and the new fuel filter didnt help. I think the fuel pump is good
because it gets gas to the filter. The car will
run for a few seconds with quick start, so I dont
think it would be a electrical problem. I am thinking the problem may be the fuel injectors.

I did get a Haynes Repair Manual but does not
talk about the fuel injectors very much.
If the fuel injectors are bad do they need to be
replaced, or can I take them out and clean them ?
and if I can clean them how would I do that ?

My mom's '90 Accord had an intermittent problem of not wanting to start. A relay was the problem. Over time, some soldered connections inside had cracked and temperature variations (probably the reason they cracked) would make it cut out at certain times.

It was repaired at a dealership, so I saw the bad part but don't know where they pulled it from.

Check your fuel pressure switch. When the ignition is turned on, the fuel pump will energize for a few seconds pressurizing the fuel line. After that, the fuel pressure switch will control the fuel flow. If the pressure switch is bad, you'll get enough fuel to run a few seconds then it will starve.

Does it have a automatic fuel shut off, incase of a accident?

Friend had one had oneshut off when he hit a bump.

120,000 miles... could be fuel pump.
I think these need an ignition signal before computer tells the relay to send power the pump, maybe it cuts the ground path to the relay. I don't know. Could be a bad relay too. Some non-factory ignition parts are incompatable and will send an innapropriate signal to EUC and it wont allow the fuel pump to operate. how about a fuse, have you checked for a bad fuse?
Awwhh heck put a pump in it, it has seen a lot of use.
Sometimes those non-factory wiring diagrams are worse than not having one at all, because they can be wrong, but I would study it if that's all I had. Wish I could be more help.

I forgot to suggest giving the intake a shot of carb cleaner or gas from a squirt gun and see if it takes off so you know if it's fuel related problem.

Probably not injectors. Might be mass air flow sensor or some other fuel injection related part though. Fuel to the filter is one thing, but is there enough fuel pressure ? On a computer controlled vehicle it could be the computer or several other things. Have you read the computer error codes ?

I agree with Ben -- would be unusual for all the injectors to fail at one time. I vote for inadequate fuel pressure. Check your manual for fuel pressure/flow specs and then measure it.

Thanks for the help yall. The car is all stock
and all the wires are factory. I'll check into the fuel pump and the power going to the fuel
pump.
