Has anyone ever used a Henrob Torch ?? I have been reading about them on the net.... Looks nice but sort of expensive ($300.00 +) I was wondering if they are really good or just a gimmick... Thanks & Regards, Davis

I have used one for welding on industrail batteries welding lead for fork truck, they burn cooler I think it woorked great

Is there such thing as a dumb question - here goes. Would it work with LP or am I in junkyard quality work? Just probbing for an answer as I use LP and oxy for the limited work I do. Thanks Bill

I haven't used one myself, but Richard Finch highly recommends the Henrob in his book "Welder's Handbook". He especially likes the Henrob cutting torch, because its design makes for a much cleaner cut than a standard cutting torch. There is a single preheat nozzle on one side of the O2 nozzle, so the preheat doesn't mess up the finished cut.

Hi Davis,

Sorry, I've never used one. About the only thing I can offer is too look into them and give you a SWAG opinion.

Not much help when I personaly have not tried something.

I believe it is $300+ plus the regulators. That is what turned me off. Not sure why there aren't any competitors as there must be one heck of a mark-up.

I had a fellow come over to my house to do some welding for me on a Jeep Comanche frame after an accident. He used a Henrob torch and it appeared to be very easy to use. He said it was much easier than a standard OxAcetylene torch and really liked it.
