I am restoring a 1950 John Deere model B and would appreciate recommendations for type and brand of gasket sealers for the various parts of the tractor which require gaskets; i.e., cooling system, engine, power shaft, power lift, etc. I am also seeking a specific recommendation relating the proper sealer(s) for the gasket area between the oil filter canister and the oil filter head. The top of the canister is bent and I have straightened it as much as possible. The head appears to set flush to the top of the canister but I can't be sure. I would like to apply some type of form-a-gasket or other compound to the bottom and top of the gasket to insure there will not be a leak. Thanks. Ken Reese - E-mail: [email protected]
