Anybody know if there are hydraulic tools anymore that can be used off tractor hydraulics? If so,are they cost effective considering all the portable tools nowadays?

Hi Sky,

You might try Stanley Hydraulics. They make hyd. tools for railroad work. Fairmont would be another hyd. tool supplier.

Check with your local fire department and/or search & rescue. They use a lot of hydraulic tools. I'm sure they could give you a catalog of tools that you could buy - I know that porta-powers, saws, etc are available.

Modern battery technology has created cordless power tools to fill most niches and portable generators bring electricity to any job.I do however know of a farmer who uses tractor hydraulics to run a large shop press and believe the nippers and saws used by tree services and power companies are driven off remotes on their hydraulic bucket trucks.Grain augers and elevators can be/are often driven by hydraulic motors.
