I have an early 8N (SS# 8928)that was converted to a 12 volt system. The ampmeter was fairly rusted and didn't seem to work so I installed a new one. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to work either. One wire is connected to the starter solenoid and the other to the alternator. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thanks for your advice!

Your wiring is not correct. I don'thave a schematic handy. ou might want to go to the 9n,2n, 8n forum as ask your question there.
