I'm thinking of buying a 4 gallon backpack sprayer. I've been looking at Hudson, and solo which I can purchase locally. What I like about the Hudson, is that TSC carries parts for them. Can some one give me a little advise on what brand would be a good one?

I've got a Solo 5-gal. Had it for over 10 yrs & been real happy with it. Can't comment on the Hudson - no experience with it.

I agree with Jerry A.: Anything over 2-3 gallons is just too dang heavy, so I almost never fill it up.

One thing that's important regardless of brand: Keep it clean. Mix just enough that you'll use it up & won't need to store a mix - even temporarily - for later use. So use it up & then clean the rig thoroughly.

Just my 2 pesos' worth .. hope it helps.

I bought a Jacto brand about 3 years ago. It's listed as a 4 gallon or 4.5 gallon (I think). It works great, but I would advise not buying one that holds more than 3 gallons, simply because that much water on your shoulders is a killer. I rarely put more than 3 or 3.5 gallons in it because it's too heavy otherwise.

Backpack sprayers are one of man's greatest inventions!
