I have a power miter box that I no longer use for wood cutting and was wondering if there is any reason to not use a cutoff wheel for metal in it? What sizes do these come in? what thickness? The saw has a 10" blade now.

It can be done. You can get 5/8 arber cut off blades. Just make sure the blade is rated for the RPM of the saw.

Jim: No can do , Your miter box RPM is too fast to put a cut off wheel on it. You will blow the cut off wheel up and cause damage to yourself or some one else, also the cut off wheel has a 1 in. arbor and your miter box is 5/8. The tool you have is mabe specificlly for cutting wood, please do not attempt to do this. You can buy a cut off saw for a reasonable price, look around. Good luck
