I've got a 20 yr old Craftsman, and a year old Milwaukee, I like the Milwaukee better. JMHO

My Craftsman is between 30 and 40 years old and doing fine. Never a problem.

Havvey: Look at Makitas impact wrenches. I've used them before and had no problems. I still know some one who has one from 1998 and uses it quite frequently. Good luck ( see link below)

I have a variable speed Craftsman 1/2 drive elect impact I've had for about 30 years. I've used it a fair amount to change wheels and break all sorts of things loose that the air impact would not touch Works good. I suspect you are getting what you are paying for. Buy a Dewalt or other name brand.

Charles, I have the same Craftsman 1/2" drive e;ectric impact. About 29 years old. I have beat that thing to death and it still does the job. They don't make them like that anymore. Still use it. Don't know who made it for Sears but it is/was a great make.

Yea, and I recently dropped the thing and broke the auxillary screw in handle on top, the black bakelite one with the LH thread, really irritated me. I've got compressed air here and lots of it, and a cheapie 30 year old Chicago Pneumatic 1/2 drive inpact, one of the first Made in Japan models, long before the Taiwan and Chinese ones (bought it new) and the Craftsman electric will out perform it. I have a good IR at work but have been too cheap to buy a good one for the home workshop.

Havvey; I had one 1/2" inch drive from Harbor Freight, about $70.00, used it to drive 3/8" lag bolts for fence, did about 40 of them , and then had "Pups", did a good job while it lasted. I would buy a better quality one next time!!

Doesn't Harbor freight have a Satisfaction Warranty?
