Homelite chainsaw fuel mixture?

Hello. I have a 2002 Ranger homelite saw. We have moved. Wife is in Iraq, so I can play with power tools again...
Stuff is in storage - owners manuals, but I need to start the saw. Can't find the correct fuel mixture anywhere on the motor or saw... Does this 33CC motor need a 32:1 or a 40:1 mix of fuel/oil?

Extra oil just plugs the ports with soot and makes the rings stick in the grooves. Run 50:1 with premium fuel that doesn't contain alcohol. There are several kinds of two stroke oil. Get one for high temp applications such as your chain saw. Don't use outboard motor oil intended for water cooled applications.

be safe, use 32:1, then you might get a lot of smoke, but at least no lack of lubication problems.

The old blue painted saws use 16:1 mix. I think the red ones use 32:1 mix. My Echo saws use 48:1.

I agree with jim. I have a Homelite ZIP, bought new in 1959. It specifies 12 ounces of oil per gallon of gas. Thats about 11-to-1 ratio. It does make smoke! No longer in use, the saw runs. It was one mean cutting machine when new.

I have a Poulan with a 38cc engine. Mine calls for 3.2 ounces of oil per gallon of gas.

Do you possibly know where I might find a service manual for a chainsaw, Homelite UT3 10696B, aka Super 2 (with a 16inch bar)? Might there be a free downloadable source? I don't want a homeowner's manual unless it has specs and diagrams. My saw leaks immediately when gasoline is poured into the tank! Failing that,I want to be able to repair (replace a hose, maybe?) the dang thing without getting in over my head. Any of you great hotshots have any ideas? Thanks muchly! Zooman, Neal
