I'm interested in building a vacuum to pick up about three acres of plastic shot shell wads/broken clay targets. Has anyone ever built a big vac out of farm machinery? Forage blower? Appreciate any help. Dick

What about a lawn sweeper? I use mine and pick-up all sorts of small rocks, sticks, walnuts, etc... Cut the grass low at the end of the season, set the sweper low, and have at it!

Years ago we used to rake up shot wads and re-use them. Sort out the broken ones -- run them through the clothes washing machine ( cold water a little detergent ) and cold air dry in the dryer. then back to the reloading bench. If you do go the vacuum route be careful of lead oxide dust comming out of the exhaust. Pigeon dust might not be so good either.
