Ok, I've had it, I'm tired of spending $$$ on corundum based 7/8 X 7in X 1/8in depressed center metal cutting blades that last all but 15 minutes.

Time to find me the ones made of diamond dust.

Anyone know where to find them?

If they have the wheel you want in the right size, try one of the NORZON grinding wheels from Norton. They have a ceramic in them and are really cutting fools. If you look at the metal "dust" they throw off you'd see it isn't just a dust particle, it comes off in a miniture sliver like you'd see in a larger scale coming off a lathe or mill. We use them almost exclusively now and they outlast everything else we've tried at least 4 to one or better. They are about twice the price, but they are well worth it. If your looking for a nice, relatively smooth finish though find something else because they do tend to leave a rough finish just because of the way they cut the metal to remove it.

Spence...you might try using the 7 x 1/4" wheels and get a lot better service from them. I once watched an employee using the right angle grinder and when he was through with it, he would stop it by shutting off the switch and grinding it to a halt on the workpiece. If you apply the rule that the faster a wheel runs-the harder it acts...then the opposite is true in the slower it runs-the softer it acts...and grinding it to a halt like he did helped shorten it's life somewhat. You might also try another brand, I've seen some that the bond wasn't quite up to snuff with others...or just a plain bad batch. Just some thoughts from experience through the years. Fred OH
