Can anyone tell me how to take a couple of the coils on the end of a spring and bend them up to make a new spring eye? I remember reading how to do this somewhere but can not remember where. May have been in one of Lautards bedside readers. Thanks for any help.

I have always done this cold. I have not had problems. It might be hard or impossible without heat with bigger springs.

Heat with torch, bend to shape wanted, let cool, do not quench, if you do it will become brittle.
