i have 1/4 in plywood walls and ceiling in my new garage. i want to paint with oil base solid stain[ i have this already]. i need to prep the seams, nail holes etc. what to i need to use for best results, spackling, wood filler, or ?. what could i add to the paint to give some texture to help hide the blemishes . i suspect that there are some you that have had some good experience along these lines. please share. thanks.

5 Years ago I built a house and I have T1-11 siding all over it. I used 10 buckets of BEHR paint stain and it is thick like paint but doesnt peel like paint. This product fills in nail holes and blemishs very well. I am assuming you have something like this because you are calling it paint. If it is actual stain then I would use a wood filler product and make sure you lightly sand the filler B4 staining. Have fun:0)

thanks for reply, yes it is solid stain. we used it on a house we built with treated plywood on the exterior walls. we have 2-3 gals left over. it is by pittsburg. it is not very thick, you can see the grain thru it in some places. our house now is brick and i have added the garage.
