Anybody ever make their own bullet mold, I want to make one for a 43 Spanish for a black powder rifle I just got. I have the plans for a base poured mold but need one for a nose pour. Can't seem to find one so I'm left with making the cherry and mold.

You may want to give a call to Huntington Die Specialties, 530-534-1210. It looks like they have a 43 caliber mould for 100 bucks. They also sell blank moulds.

(Huntington's is the company started by Fred Huntington after he sold RCBS. They specialize in custom reloading dies, so they probably know as much about oddball calibers as anyone.)

I used to sell cherry blocks to a glass factory. They used 'em to mold glass somehow.

Have you checked with Lee? They make many molds for various bullets, and will make custom molds for others. leeprecision.com

Another great resource is reloadbench.com - go to their bulletin board. Like this board, they have a number of topics, and a group of very knowledgable folks who are ready to help. Just post your question in the proper topic. There's probably someone with an answer. I assume that your bullet is hollow based, like a civil war minne ball, and that's why the necessity of nose pouring? Personally can't help, although I cast literally thousands of rounds a year!

Go to www.graybeardoutdoors.com and scroll down on the forums to the blackpowder cartridge section. There is also a forum a little lower on cast bullets and reloading. Post your question and I'm sure you will get an answer. I'm also certain there are nose pour molds made for the 43.
