The local paper shows one of those tent sales coming to town soon - and I saw in there a portable metal cutting bandsaw for $49 bucks. Anyone have experience with these products (homier??). Shud I go to the sale and stand in line to get the product, or just skip it?

Forget it. I bought several items from them a few years ago. I should have thrown the stuff away on the way home. JUNK

I have a Porter-Cable deep cut Portaband and I love it. Milwaukee's just as good. However, stick with one of these brands. The Homier stuff is one level above ore.

Having dealt with the type of saw you are speaking of,my advice would be pass it, put some with the$49 and buy a used name brand saw.

As far as traveling tool sales go I like Homier the best. They have different levels of quality in their tools, but some are warrantied. For home use most of their tools are okay, but I don't know if I would try to make a living with them. Just my opinion, doorguy

You need to watch these fly by night "Harbour Freight" on wheels.

They sale a lot of fake items. Such as power tools that look like say DeWalts. Then you find out later that they are not DeWalts at all. But a cheap India or Chinese made look a like.

What you are refering to is better known as a "Porta Band". I bought a Milwaukee Porta Band three years ago for $289.00 I beleive that the cheapest in price is the Porter Cable that cost around $250.00. I am not saying that Porter Cable is cheap. They just lost less than a Milwaukee or Stout.
