Hi,

I need to find a "Fuel Pulse" tach for a job I am working on. Does anyone know where this can be found? I need to use it with various pieces of equipment, so a variety would help.

Thanks,

Scott

Wow...clamp on tach for fuel injector lines...I guess I live in the dark ages... Do they make a clamp on the injector line unit for timing?

Hi scott,

I have UEI digital photoelectric tach for my DVM, $110 from Johnstone Supply. Does upto 20000rpm and you calibrate by strobing a fluorescent lite at 7000rpm.

Only draw back it uses reflective tape for a strobing source and that means equipment shut down to attach the tape which was not always easy to do.

I have used this one, works fine. Works on diesels with exposed inj lines and spark ign too. It will read spark voltage too.

Scott, Take a look at www.tinytach.com. They have a handheld tach that the transducer clamps onto an injector line to read rpm. Model TT-220 works only on diesel engines, the other on both gas and diesel when you have both pickups.

I believe Snap-On and MAC tools have them. They come up on ebay from time to time.
