Scrap iron prices

Does anyone have any first-hand knowledge to what is happening to the scrap iron prices? Here in Iowa it went from $60 a ton up to $120. Now it's on the way back down at $90, just in a couple of weeks. Thanks.

Sorry Steve I do not know why?.
First time in 25+ years that I have seen
scrap iron price move in the middle of the month!.I have preached that iron only can
move (prices) once a month.Can't say that
anymore changed twice in three days?.April
fools day my be a day to forget for me.lol
It will be the third time in 15 days scrap
prices have fallen.I don't know why it increased
so fast?.Someone sure made a premature mistake. Thanks I feel better Keno Henderson

The Chinese are importing it to make all the junk Wal-Mart & other places are too greedy to buy in This country. They have to get all the empty sea-tainers back to China so they started buying up all the steel, copper & brass scrap several months ago. Don't worry, EVERYTHING metal will be increasing in price soon because of it as well.

Around here it is the law of supply and demand situations, and as the demand is supplied, so goes the price up or down!
