I have a older J-D 55V chainsaw that was my father's for years. It's a great piece but the red plastic throttle trigger has broken off and the local JD dealer cannot come up with a replacement part. Any ideas? I really don't want to give up the saw for something so stupid.

Todd , I believe your saw is the same as the ECHO model 650-EV

Thanks gents you nailed it. The saw was made by Echo and matched up with model # CS660EVL. My local dealer got me the piece in two days for a whopping $3.39! Says alot about Echo's parts availablity as well.

Thanks again for the help, it's really a great old saw and I'm glad to have it back in business.

The John Deere saws like the model you have are not john deere made, they had a production contract with Echo for that model so you actually have an Echo with a similar model # like 550EV or the like. I would advise you to visit the Echo dealer for a throttle trigger.
