I am trying to locate a source for 5/16"UNC X 3/4" slotted drive truss head machine screws. (Look like a carridge bolt head with a screwdriver slot in it) They are the screws that retain the sheetmetal on the hood of a lettered series Allis Chalmers and probably other makes of tractors too. I've tried all the local and online suppliers I can find but that seems to be a size that is now obsolete. All vendors stop at 1/4". I have found phillips head S.S. ones but not slotted. Anyone have a line on some ? Thanks, Chris

If you have a sample screw, take it to an appliance repair shop or parts store. I think they were used on older washers. The ones I have are 5/16nc x 1/2" long. Find someone with a bunch of junk washers to check out.

Chris - McMaster-Carr cat #90015A471 looks pretty close! (Punch below, then enter the above part number in the "find" box)
