IH 460 firing problem

Have a IH 460 that runs great has 95# compression on all cylinders. But when temp. outside is between 25 and 35 degrees the tractor misses as if the ignition is wet. I have stopped and put on new points, condenser, rotor, and distributor cap and the tractor will start right back up missing. If the temperature is colder or warmer outside it runs fine. If someone has any ideas I would sure appreciate it. thank you

More then likly you are having carb iceing , chek and make sure that your heat riser is working and it also helps to let the tractor warm up for 15 to 20 min. before tryen to work it , had the same problem with my 460 and one of my 706's . Also the heat riser could be filled up with carbon deposit and lead deposits and the heat is not getting all the way down to the carb like it should. If the carb is getting icey on the outside it is doing the same thing on the inside. This always happens around that temp . and in weather with high moisture and temps even up to the 40's.

You may need to change the plug wires. I think the moisture in the air is getting to them. They may look ok but age cracks allow moisture to short them out.

Sound like plugs. Champion plugs for some reason can be great or a pain. Next stop drift on over to the tractor web site. My dad's 460 started using oil and plugs just plug up. Also 95lbs. compression sound too low. Need ring job. Jeff
