larger bucket for skidsteer?

Hi guys, I mainly lurk here, well have been for the past 6 years. anyway, I have a case skidsteer with a dirt bucket on it. I need to move ALOT of wet and dry sawdust. would a light materials/snow bucket work? I'd like the largest bucket possible, anyone know what that might be? ARe there any good places to get used buckets, online? as money is an issue.

You said you'd like the largest bucket possible. I know of one which was used for sawdust and wood chips which is about 20 yards. It fits in the log forks of the 988 Cat it was used on. I'm guessing that MIGHT be a little larger than you had in mind. You might be able to find a bucket from an old dirt loader, though.

fIND A LOCAL WELDING SHOP, have them build you a new bucket, basicly just welding flat sheets together. My brother has a very large bucket he had for his skid loader for moving haylage and silage, I think he can fill a 2 cu yd dump truck in 4-6 bucketfulls (around 4 ton).
just make the bucket as wide as you want and tall

Have some bolt on extensions made to make your current bucket taller.

A lot of the old loaders had snow buckets that bolted onto the dirt or manure bucket, wouldn't be too hard to make one. Just a steel box with the front side out and a cutout in the back for your bucket to fit into, make it any size you want. If you only have to move it 20 feet, I wonder how a tractor mounted snow blower would work? Or get a hold of your township and have them come out with a payloader.

I dont have to move the material far at all, probably <20 feet. basiclly just to the dump truck.

I think a cheap bucket, even a welded one or bent would work ok.

Cheap buckets are just that - CHEAP! You really only get what you pay for.

I've got a Bobcat which they say will lift about 2300#. That's lifting it up to it's highest as in loading a dump truck. If your gonna only lift the load a short distance & then travel to a dump sit that's a different matter all together. I've added wheel weights etc and can lift three thousand#.
What I am trying to say is it all depends upon your skid steer and what it is rated for. Fig that out and shop for a good stout bucket!

There are some fairly inexpensive new buckets on Ebay, but freight runs the price up. I have never been able to find a decent used bucket, ones I see are bent, broken, & welded on, & they want a new price for them.
