hi all i would like some input on the jonsered chain saws im retiring my old huskqvarne 20 yrs old. i cant decide what to buy stihl husky or jonsered help me out guys

Some of the newer small Johnsred saws are made in the US by Poulan, they are junk. If it has the made in USA tag on it pass it by. The European Johnsreds are still made at the original factory and are great saws.

I have used Jonsered in the tree business for years. I have an older 650 which I have to go to Husky dealer for parts. Both good saws.

I think that may be the one built in jonnyred factory. The 2 saws used the same crankcase but had minor cosmetic differences.

Jonsered is a subsidiary of Electrolux. Jonsered saws are owned by Electrolux not made by them. Much like Lincoln is owned by Ford. Electrolux also owns.

Frigidaire (Whirlypoop, Kenmore, Maytag).

Jonsered saws are good quailty saws. For me it is Huskys. For Stihl does not produce the same quailty products that they once did. I have quit considering their products altogether when looking for power equipment.

All but two or three current Jonsered models are Huskys with trim changes, or rather the Huskys could be retrimmer Jonseys.

well after comparing the jonsered saw to a stihl i bought a 361 stihl instead. the stihl was only about $70.00 more but seems to be of better quality i also have a 028 super i purchased about 18yrs ago and its still going strong

Jonsered and husky are the same thing generally the differences are all cosmetic. I have a 670 Champ which is a husky 266 xp with jonsered decals. I love it, I just wish the one metal av mount section wasnt broken and it was lighter weight. but generally speaking, I vote for a good Husky or jonsered chainsaw over those little crappy homeowners brands anyday. McCullochs are pretty good saws for me though, I had a pro mac 610 that was pretty powerful and handy for those stubborn stumps and days when I needed to shave really quick haha. but overall, the swedish saws are VERY nice, I hear a woods modified 346XP will cut up there with a stock 372XP model.

Love those old McCullochs! I'm the guy who posted Too much Ebay. I think I now have two 650 saws and eight 610 saws. I rebuilt for giggles and will most likely sell a few back on Ebay. Want some fun? Try some of the older Macs. See if you can find a 1-40 or 250 1-45/46 or a Mac 15. These older beasts have reed valves and run slower but they are very powerful and sound like demented Harleys! You hear one of these old things and you just gotta have one! Jeff

Would you be interested in buying a MAC 510 (I think that's the model)? It has between no and very few hours on it.
