Nice socket set ,plus, on E-bay

Hey guys for any of you that want a nice 3/4" and 1" drive socket set, along with both a 3/4" and 1" drive hand operated impact and other assorted accessories, there is a nice set on E-bay. The seller goes by Molinestud and is a surplus place up in Illinois. The impacts are called Swenches and they are mean. I've taken things apart with my 1" Swench that my IR impact wouldn't budge. I got basically the same set from him about 3 years ago and gave $1000 and he has $750 on this set so it is a steal at that price. From what he lists it isn't a "factory complete" set like I bought, which has all impact sockets and several more extensions, but I called curtis Wright before I bought it and the factory price on a complete set is $8000. Like I said anybody out there needing a nice socket set and a couple of mean impact tools this is the set for you. Good luck if you bid. Wayne

Are the Swench tools made by Sweeny, the folks that make torque multipliers ??? Regards, Davis

No they aren't made by Sweeny, they are actually made by a division of Curtis Wright Flight Systems. I don't remember where I got their number when I got my set from the guy but I called Curtis Wright and they sent me all the sales literature on the Swenches and the sets along with a price sheet. I know CAT lists the 1" drive, I believe it is, as a specialized tool in their tool book. They make the Swench in sizes ranging from 1/2 inch ( Don't remember the output) all the way to 1 1/2 inch which was rated at 7000 ftlbs. I don't know what it is about them that makes them work so good, I guess it's just a different kind of shock than a normal impact delievers. Like I said though I've broken loose bolts with 3 pulls on the handle that my 1" IR wouldn't tough, and have tightened bolts on a crusher with it that the customer said they couldn't get loose with a slugging wrench and wound up calling us back to break them loose for them. It's just an awsome tool if you have a use for it.
