Need a small compressor.

Any suggestions for a small compressor around 2 - 5 gal size. Need it for construction work to run nailers and other small stuff. And need it to be portable. Harbor Freight has a few, but I want to compare other sources or hear your suggestions.

I bought a beltless "buzzer" oiless type a few years ago and regret it. Fortunately I don't use it that much but when I do, the noise drives me crazier than I already am. I'd definitely go belt-drive next time just for the quiet operation.

at the very least make sure it is not an oil less they tend to suck dirt into the piston I use a dewalt-emglo more expensive but works well and should last a long time

I have a DeVilbiss ProAir, with 1.5 HP and 3 gal. It's great--no problems. I've had it for about four years. The only gripe I have is that the handle is a bit flimsy. Othewise, it's great. It's a single tank model, so it's slender. It easily fits behind the seat of the truck, and doesn't take much room elsewhere.

Buy an Emglo, or a DeWalt (same thing). Best small compressor you will get. Just keep it off the roof, as it will sit off-level and seize up.
