Saw Blade

I have an old Black & Decker 7" electric hand saw.Catalog #70, Ser# 73133, 10 amp.

This is a nice ole saw made exceptionlly well. What I need is a ripping blade. Seems easy but the arbor hole in the blade is 1-1/8". Where can I find one not carbide just a good quality rip blade.

My advise would be to buy a 5/8" blade and grind or bore it out to the correct size...they're not real hard. Got a friend with a lathe? Bore to 1 1/8"...or turn a piece of steel to 5/8 and also 1 1/8". Use the big size to draw a line around to grind to...the 5/8 would center it up. Keep it handy for next time. Even wood would work for this...if you used a micrometer to size the wood with...or aluminum or plastic...no biggie. Use a die grinder to grind with...1/2" mounted points, aluminum oxide. I never heard of the odd ball size arbor...you could take it out and turn it down to 5/8" also...but it's probably hard and would require carbide lathe tool to cut. Fred OH
