great saw!!! had mine for many years, and only problems are that parts are really hard to get for it, and bar oil tends to leak slowly from it so you have to be careful storing it. currently trying to find a muffler cover and spark arrestor, and as common as that sounds it's not even in the suppliers' data bases. dealer has been mad at homelite for years about parts availability. antikickback nose is worth its weight in uranium, and doesn't seem to be available on most other brands. i really don't want another chainsaw as long as i can keep this running, but parts supply is bad.

I bought a 410 new several years ago, As a farmer I have sawed with most of the big names (neighbors)and they have been traded and the 410 is still going. I'm going to put in the first set of isolators this spring and other then tune-ups and bar and chain nothing has been done to it except saw. I've heated my house and shop with wood from this saw every year and cut a zillion fence post over the years. The only regret is I wished I'ld bought two and now I'll have a new one and a used one.

The 410 was designed in partnership with Solo (German saw maker) and was one of the last decent saws sold by Homelite. OK quality, good overall but dated. Don't know about the compression release.
