Oxygen Acetylene cylinder tank pressure

The cylinders are supposed to be 2200psi@70� for O2 and 250psi@70� for Acetylene.

But there's another law that states Acetylene pressure can not exceed 250psi for storage. That means a Acetylene cyl in the sun at 130� can not exceed 250spi. Then a Acetylene cyl at 70� would have a pressure of 223psi and be full.

I did not find a law that stated a maximum pressure for o2, so at 130� a o2 cylinder would have 2450psi.

I've also noticed that here my cylinders filled pressures were getting lower. Just not as low as you said. I did change my gas supplier this last fill and my cylinders now run 2000psi and 200psi and a lot better than before but I still feel there low numbers.

As soon as I get the new tanks into my van, I check the pressures. So many times we find "leakers" and the new tanks are empty. This is very costly when we get to a job site, and we are already out of gas. Plus the nearest supply store is 30 miles away.

What I ended up doing was taking my tanks to the local welding shop and had them get my tanks filled. I get a better price and if any issues he raises cane. I just make sure I take him some business from time to time and send others his way, plus I pay him $5.00 extra for every tank I get filled.

I am sure he is making something more than this from others I have referred his way but $5 is cheaper than the gas I was paying for and NOT GETTING.
