I followed yesterdays tip of the day and bought an Ingersoll-Rand needle scaler for my restoration project. Well, I've never had one before so, when I opened the box and found a bunch of pieces, I thought I'd find instructions (maybe a picture) of how to put it together; and maybe a parts list. You'd think those needles would have to be replaced.

What did I find. In fifteen languages, including Farsi, a 1/2 inch thick book basically told me that using the tool for the purpose it was intended was very hazardous, and don't even think of using it for anything else - such as brushing your teeth. Hell, I knew that.

I think they should all have to learn English and these manufacturers should try to write something useful.

So "they should all have to learn English" including the ones that live in other countries?

If IR takes that attitude, how many needle scalers do you think there going to sell in other countries?

Keep in mind that one reason "they" generally do OK when "they" sell a product here is because "they" take the time to tranlate the instructions to english.

And this is not just theory. The company I work for is seriously going after the export market.

Thanks, Jim. I've been biting my tongue. Thought the xenophobes were taking over.

I don't give a rats a$$ about how many trees these idiots are chopping down to print all this crap, I just want to be able to open the book and read it. No m gusto leer libros en lenguas otro de ngles. There is far too much writing on the outside of a paint can conveying so little information. Elvis san, doko e ikki mashdaka.
