I am looking for information and or pictures of atool used to tighten or loosen the nuts on the flywheel of my 1948 model G John Deere, if there is such a tool. I know that it takes an 1¼ inch socket to fit the nut. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! !!!

John, the flywheel on my 48 G also needed tightening, I ended up with 2 wrenches, if you want one drop me an e-mail. Or if you would rather I will send you a picture of it. Dave

The one I had for my John Deere "B" that I use to have , looks a little different than that. It's hard to descibe it's shape , but it used to work very well. I've had to change the seal behind the flywheel a few times. The "B" I had was hand start , not electric. That may be why the different shape.
