Linde Plasma cutter

I have an older Linde Plasma cutter that works well but the consummables are expensive. I have seen a generic brand comsummable with the name Nu-Tecsys. Has anyone heard of this brand and are they ok? A second question is about the ceramic heat shield. They cost about $13 each, and maybe more now. A piece of the end will break out real easily from the heat, or if I accidently bump it. Is there anything that I could use to repair the ceramic and get a little more use out of them.

Thanks for the help. I may try to make a mold and use some fire brick clay to repair the broken ones and to try and add reinforcing to the new ones. Any ideas on what to use for a mold? I have about 8 old ones that I saved in case I came up with a way to repair them.

Hi Crem,

You might buy some fire brick clay (very fine clay for fire places) and make a coating for the outside of the nozzle. Porcilin is clay fired at 2000�

The torch name is not ringing any bells.

Linde was a division of Union Carbide, the welding products division was in Florence,SC. Back in the late 70's, I built several molds to make parts for their plant. I am not sure what happened to them, but do remember Union Carbide sold a lot of assets to pay for the chemical leak in India.

ESAB bought Linde. ESAB carries replacement parts for most Linde products!
