I have a DW55155 that doesn't charge the tank. The motor runs fine. The relief valve and the drain valve are both closed. When I turn the unit on, I can hear air escaping from somewhere, but I can't locate the problem. Anyone have have experience with these units?

i got one of these. It is a fine air compressor. There is a cold start valve, that when tank is EMPTY it lets air vent for like les than 30 seconds, then it close anp pumps normally. Look at where the pipe from pump to tank connects to the tank, at a big brass body. You will see a plastic line running to the pressure switch. Also on that same body, there is what looks like a schrader valve. Listen and feel to see if this is where the air is leaking, if not listen and feel to see if you can tell where it is venting at and post back.. Hope this helps!!

Chris, Thanks for the reply. Based on your post, I took the cover off to get a closer look at that big brass fitting and the cold start valve, and discovered that the air I heard escaping was coming from that plastic line that you described that goes to the pressure switch. Looks like it failed (it's split near one of the fittings). As a temp fix I taped it up, and that fixed my problem. No idea why the line failed, or what kind of pressure it normally has to handle, but I'll replace it with something more substantial. Thanks again for the heads-up ....
