I have come into posession of an unusual set of bonney wrenches.Leather case 4.75 x 6 inside of the case is felt lined.contains five wrenches
H10-3/16 - 7/32
H12-1/4 - 9/32
Specialty 45% ofset wrench 3/8 - 7/16
H16-3/8 - 7/16
H18-13/32 - 15/32

All are open end and still have the Bonney label.
I think that this set was for a specific use but I have no idea for what.If anyone out there knows please help.

A couple years late, but the Bonny Wrench you described might be an adjustment wrench for a King Mill (a large lathe used to cut and smooth railroad wheels. My father operated a King Mill at Bethlehem Franklin Mill in Johnstown, PA. They used mostly Bonny hand tools through the 1970's

I definitely agree with the other guys, this sounds like an ignition wrench set, for adjusting magnetos, installing ignition points. The 45 degree wrench, does it have a specific pouch? I have a set in leatherette case, each one stamped either, Bosch,Delco,Steyer, Fairbanks, some single some combinations. Have always liked Bonney tools, and collect same today.

I have a set of 11 double open-end in the original oil cloth pouch.Am trying to find the value so that I may put them up for sale. They are in great condition but I don't understand how they are marked? Like the opening does not match the size marked ?

Sounds like the sets that were sold for use on distributors and ignition kits. The offset was for reaching the lock nut on distributors that were on the back of the engine near the fire wall and difficult to get a standard wrench into.

My guess is that someone put the 45 deg. offset in to fill the pouch and that it doesn't belong with the other tools.

Bonney sold the other sizes plus a 5/16 x 11/32 in a leatherette roll as their "5-Piece Set" ((what a creative name!)) part number N20R.
