What brand of drill press would be good for a farm shop? I have looked at Sears Craftsman,in the 400.00 range.

You might be able to find an industrial duty drill press , such as a Clausing if you are not in a hurry. Lots of shops & plants are selling out now, & prices on machinery are really down now.

Funny thing happened, I posted last night about maybe finding a Clausing drill press. This morning a guy I know called me that he wanted to sell some things. I ended up buying a nice Clausing variable -speed floor model drill press for $100.00 It is 3 phase which is OK , we have it at the shop, but he also gave me a single phase motor that will fit, in case I want to use it at home.

Yes lots of good deals on industrial tools. Just be sure that when you buy it that the power it requires is right for you. A lot of industrial equipment is 3 phase and maybe 460 Volts.
