Does anyone out there know anything about a Ford
F-250 4x4 w/5.4V8 and automatic? What kind of mileage do you get? If you have one, do you like it? How does it do with towing? I have a 14ft 7000# trailer that I haul small Farmall Cub on it. Does anyone know about these engines??
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

I have a 2001 F250 4x4 5.4 automatic extended cab. New I got 12.5 mpg on the highway. I changed to a K&N air filter at 10,000 mi and mileage went to 15 mpg. I am really pleased with the truck 45,000 mi without any problems. I tow a 10,000 lb gvw trailer ocassionally and it pulls it well. Should have no problems with your cub and trailer. I haven't heard of any problems with the 5.4 engine.

JHILL, Keep in mind the K&N filter flows better than a factory filter but doesnt do a good job of filtering until it gets dirty. Also the cleaning and re-oiling plays alot into how it filters. I once thought a lot of these until I read research on WWW.thedieselstop.com about them. Now I run a Donaldson filter that has a large paper filter that has waterproofing on it and the air box has been removed. Go there and do a search for a TYMAR filter system by Dale Isley. Good Luck Kent

K&N FILTER ON COMPUTER CONTROLED MOTORS CAN'T IMPROVE FUEL MILAGE. THE ENIGES VARIOUS SENSORS DETECTED MORE AIR ENTERING THE ENGINE THE COMPUTER ADDS MORE FUEL TO COMPENSATE FOR ADDED AIR SO SIMPLY PUT MORE AIR = MORE FUEL
