This season my saw has been loosing power. I changed the plug and made sure the filter is clean. I always use stabil in my gas and have not had any trouble with my other saw or two cycle engines. So I don't think it is fuel related. Tryed adjusting the carb. didn't seem to change anything. Starts good its just when you put it to a log it looses power. Is it wore out? Have always used Stihl 2cycle oil. 11 years old. Thanks.

If not your muffler, carb may need rebuilt, if adjusting it makes no changes. If you used it an extreme amount, cylinder, rings, piston could be worn out.

Pick up saw by starter handle. Rope shuold hold saw up or come out very slowly. This tells you if the compressiom is OK.
Screen in the muffler first, then go after the fuel system. Use new parts, you are just wasting your time otherwise.
