this weekend i saw the last 5 minutes of the show twice. they had what looked like a big fancy chop saw except it made the nicest cuts. the wheel turned slow and it was lubed with what looked like blue water. is this saw better than a band saw? what kind of price is on this type of saw? any web sites? as always thanks eric

eric, I have a "Cold saw" It turns 57RPM's use'es cutting oil mixed with water to cool, mine has a 14in. blade, cuts smooth as a baby's a$$ and accurate. It does cut at a good rate of speed,it really depends on how thick the metal is. it cuts any angle you want and cuts any shape metal.the largest piece I've cut has been 2x12 "I" beam and the largest round I've cut so far has been 5in.. the one I have is a "Dorenger" made in California,US made.not cheap but you'll never buy another saw, believe me.I'v had horizantel band saws and regular cheap chop saws, and evan a horizantal hack saw..Oh yes, about 5,000 dollars just my 02cents worth----Jim in N M

I saw the same show, go to Link and click on the January 10-11 show. Scrole down the page. Hope this helps.
