The right front axel of my Farmall 656 is rusted
so that the axel will not extend. Any thoughts
or ideas on how to free it up? I have tried heat,
hydraulic jack pressure, and lots of WD40.

Jack the offending side up, block as firmly as you can under the outside 6-8" of the center section using HARD wood or steel blocking or a heavy duty jackstand. Try to do this on a concrete floor. Wail on the top of the axle, just above the blocking with the biggest sledge you can swing. The idea is to use rigid support that will not absorb much of the impact. This will help break the rust loose. Use this same technique on tie rods, take them off the tractor & lay them on an anvil. Crude, but effective. Good Luck.
