I HE HAD SOME OF THE PAINT COME OFF THE INSIDE OF THE FUEL TANK AND TURN INTO SYRUP AND PLUG UP THE CARB A NUMBER OF TIMES. WHAT COULD BE DOING THIS AND WARE DO I SET THE NEEDLE ON THE PUMP DIAPHRAM?

old gas or gas with alcohol.... are you talking about the idle screw at the carb????? back it off till the chain stops but saw still runs... put some new gas in the tank with a little extra oil..

THE NEEDLE VALVE INSIDE THE CARBURETOR THAT HOOKS TO THE DIAPHRAM WITH A ROCKING ARM.THE ARM CAN BE BENT TO ADJUST.
