miller 250t welder needs the doctor

does anyone out here know much about miller welders.ill explain what happened yesterday. we had 2 days of steady rain then temps fell to 10 degrees overnight. at work the next day i fired up the welder and when it started it took off at a very high rpm much faster than normal.i know this was caused by ice freezing things up.so i shut it off for just a couple seconds flipped the switch back on befor it completlt died but again it took off at high rpm so the i shut it off again but this time i let it stop completely.
but now it wont do anything like the battery is disconnected. so i take the top cover off thinking a internal fuse blowed but they all checked out good.i can jump it across the starter and make it start but soon as i take off the jumper it dies instantly. i would guess something blew or shorted out when it reved up . i just thought i would ask befor i put it in the shop. any help will be app.

Had a similar problem with our welder at work, It was in the start switch .. If we startsd it and just let the switch return it would die, but if we started it and just held the switch (not so it engages the starter) for a couple of seconds it would run.The problem went away before it could be figured out good. (warmed up )and has worked since
