I no, I no it's not a tractor but the heater doesn't get real warm and can't located the thermostate. Motor sets cross-ways. Is it on the back side of the motor?

Yep, before you start changing parts, feel the heater hoses, are they hot? If so maybe your heater core is plugged. You may also have a malfunction in your heater deflector doors.

Got to have an engine size. Rule of thumb is follow the top hose to where it connects to the engine, should be there under a housing. If'n its a V6 its probably behind the exh. crossover. Book sez 1.5 hr job. Use only OEM thermo and gasket. OR you may do it X2.

If it is a 3.1 V6, You need to make sure you know how to bleed the coolant system for the heater or you may never get heat out of it.

I had a 93 Grand Prix with a 3.1 that never got hot. Had to drive with a coat on no matter how long the trip was or freeze to death. Put in new t-stat and heater core, no help. Finally traded it off, couldn't stand it anymore.

Yeah, 'that woman I live with' had a quad 4 in a Grand Am (92 I think). I added coolant and somehow got air in the system. Burst the heater core. Took it to the local shop, they replaced it and it burst again (did it 3 more times). When I took it to GM they had to replace the head gasket too, said the air did that. Raped me for over $1200.

Yeah, I just bought (Read about a month ago) a 95 Chevy Lumina with the 3.1 with 91,000 miles on it. The guy had taken it to a shop back last March to have the radiator flushed out and the heater quit working. Turns out the guy had been driving it to the coffee shop every morning after that. Needless to say, By the time I got it, The heads were warped and needed some serious work. Gave $1000 for the car and another $1200 to get it fixed right. Heater works good now.
