I have a Craftsman model 315-18810 electric impact wrench that is in very good condition except for the defective switch. Sears no longer offers this switch #2-614905-04. Has anyone overcome this problem?

THANKS FOR ANY HELP
Jim

Had the switch on my Sears table saw break, took the switch to Lowes and got an exact replacement in their parts section.

Might try that.

you might try taking the switch to a tool repair shop. Someone could recognize it if it's used on other brands.

If you have an Ace Hdw. store available-you might try them. I found an exact replacement switch for a Wards radial arm saw there. Most switches were made by other manufacturers than the actual tool-maker. You might just luck out and find one.

At one time, the prefix 315, was made by ryobi.

Find out who made the wrench for Sears and you may be able to locate a duplicate switch. I had a Crafstman circular saw (7 1/4") made by Emerson with a frozen bearing which I was able to replace for about $5. Sears wanted a $$ non-refundable min. and two weeks to check it. I no longer buy Sears power tools. Good luck.
