I have an old Craftsman wood lathe that I want to get running for my son to use. The model # is 103.21600. Any sites dedicated to finding parts for these things? I need a live center. Thanks

Don't know which lathe you have but we had a Craftsman wood lathe,12 inch swing, built about 1962. I remember it had #2 Morse taper in both headstock and tailstock. You should be able to pick these up at a woodwork machinery store. You need the spur center for the headstock and if you are going to turn wood you can use a dead center in the tailstock. Ebay had a nice set of turning chisels for sell a couple of days ago.

Found Woodworker's Supply catalog, 2003. They have centers fot Delta lathe and they are #2 Morse taper. 1-800-645-9292, or www.woodworker.com. Hope this helps and they will send a free catalog. DH

If wood lathes are like metal lathes, there should be standard tapers to fit the trailstock. Maybe even one from a metal lathe will fit. Check machine shop suppliers like Enco, Airgas, etc.

Hello Wil, Try Ebay. Enter Wood Lathe or Craftman Lathe. Many times there are parts and pieces for sale. Also Sears is a good bet. Hope this helps. Thanks, Joe

i recently was given what appears to be an old craftsman wood lathe....it has a seperate motor, with a four pulley system for speeds. it is complete and running with several tools included..not being a wood turner myself, i am wondering value, and ways of identifying the year, model, etc... Then i am looking for an interested buyer.. i am very reasonable, and do not have room in my garage

Been there, done that. Parts unavalable due to age of machine.
