i need to replace the turn signal switch in my 84 F350, the manual shows a tool that looks like a small tube with half of it milled off, this tool is to remove the wires from the plug so they can be fished up thru the steering column. the ford dealer says that ford doesnt sell the tool, does anyone have one of these tools that they could measure and give me the dimensions of the tip, its pretty simple looking tool and i am a machinist so making one would be no problem if i knew the id and od of the tools tip. or does anyone know where i could buy one of these tools, or have any other alternatives for gettin the the wires out of the terminal?

Radio Shack used to sell a tool that has six differant pin removing devices. Works well.

Mark try Waytek wire's site. They have a removal just about any type of terminal end you can imagine. They also have the cheapest prices around on terminal ends and wiring products of anybody I know of if you ever need anything like that.

i used one fir computer plugs looked like they made it out of a ballpoint pen refill tube . try to shape it so you push it in and rotate to release the barb that holds the pin in lol.

Mark...since removing it is no problem just clip the wires off about the plastic connector and pull the switch out...reinstall the new switch...I would draw a picture of the connector then mark each slot with the approite color wire...the usuing a grinder grind down a small peice of stiff wire to a 30 degree angle that will fit the slot...stick it in the terminal and bend the catch tang down then just push the wire through.....then all you have to do is slip each connector back in its slot and then snap connectors togather....I've found its lots easier to get it out and under some light where you can see it better....snap on and matco make these little tools but you dont really have to have them...

hope this helps you..
best wishes TO
