I'm looking at a neighbor's Homelite Super XL AO
with very little use, 16" bar and chain like new
and manual. It has a good rep and runs excellent.
Any comments as to value and I doubt he'll take
a low offer. Thanks.

With over a million of the SXL/XL12's sold, parts will be available for quite awhile... I stock almost everything for them, either new or used. It is a saw built to last.

To a collector, depending on the year, a Super XL in very good to excellent used condition is worth $125 to $175.

But if it's going to be put to work, $50 to $75 as an older saw will require some repair $ to keep it running.

It depends on the condition of the saw, If you can, e-mail me some pictures of the saw and I may be able to tell you what I think its worth. I would say that without having seen pictures of the saw probably less than $125. I would try for something like $50 though because the saw you are thinking about is no longer made and parts are hard to find.
