Ridgid Lifetime Warranty

Have any of you bought the new Ridgid battery drills with the "lifetime warranty"? I bought one of the 14.4 volt ones and when I got it home there was nothing in the paperwork about a lifetime warranty, only a three year warranty. A three year is better than any of the others, but I would like something in writing about the lifetime warranty. I have the salesmans assurance about the warranty but nothing in writing. Kinda reminds me of a used car salesmans warranty. Any of you have any thoughts on this?

I hope they stand behind it better than my local store does on their Husky tools. My daughter gave me a two pairs of pliers for Xmas a few years ago. Both sets had the rubber handles fall off. I have other tools where the handles have lasted 20 years. I took them back. It took a visit from the store manager to get them replaced. It seems as if one pair had the word Husky wear off. They tried to claim they wern't their pliers. I finally raised enough @#$#% until they replaced both pairs. Of course with a gift I did not have a recipt. I contacted their main office about the problem, they said they would be in touch, I never heard from them again. All those problems over an $8.00 tool. Get it in writing. I would never buy their brand again.

HD doesn't Warranty Ridgid, Ridgid does.Tools go to a service center, the warranty will only be as good as the service center is.

The HD ads had it in there, I would keep one with the receipt, also the website might have a page you can print out. There is supposed to be a lifetime warranty on any ridgid bought before the end of the year.

I bought a reconditioned miter saw from them about 4 years ago. They said it had a life time warrantee and would replace it with another rebuilt or my purchase price toward a new one if it had problems. A bearing went out last year so I took it back and they didn't have another rebuilt in at the time so they ordered it in and shipped it to me for nothing the next week.

I would have to believe what is written on paper any day over what a salesman says :)
