Covering a tractor

I need to modify a contractor grade plastic tarp that I bought a Lowes. The tarp will be used to cover my 364 I.H. As you are probibly aware, it is hard to get a nice looking "fit" when using a tarp to cover a tractor. I would like to cut out some folds that are present to give that custom fit look. This is important to me because many people will see this in my yard. My question is ---Is there a way to glue this material to itself?

I don't know about glue but try using the same color duct tap as the tarp color. A roll is about $7. If you use the grey tape, put the tape on the inside where it won't be seen. In the weather, black will outlast grey 2 or 3 times.

I've used a good grade of book-binding or duct tape to tape down folds when I tarp my tractors for the winter. If it is for long term storage (like over the winter season), I always build a wooden "frame" of sorts in and around the tractor so that when the tarp is in place and laced down, the tarp is not actually touching the tractor tin/paint. I use 2x4's and 1x4's etc and woodscrews, sort of build it custom fit as you go. The air gets to move around in there and it prevents condensation, etc. Has always worked well for me, however if it is a tarp to cover a tractor that you are using then the frame idea doesn't work too well.

Polyurethane adhesive will glue just about anything to anything. Try 3M 5200

There is a glue type cement for tarp gluing that I once used on a fold down camper. I think I got it at a large truck stop as it was used by truckers to glue truck tarps.---deadeye
